United Methodist Women

Putting FAITH - HOPE - LOVE in Action

OUR PURPOSE:  The United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is to know God and experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative, supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

To fulfill our Purpose, our local unit of the United Methodist Women at Granbery Memorial is open to all women.  There are three different Circles – Agape, New Life, and Berean Bible – that provide you an opportunity to engage in a smaller group setting.  Each circle meets on a regular basis.  Find one that meets your schedule and begin putting your faith, hope and love into action as you serve with other women engaged in ministry.

Our Granbery UMW provide material and financial support to UMW global missions, as well as a variety of local ministries.  The ministries include UMCOR Relief Kits, Days for Girls Kits, Released Time Weekday Religious Education, the Alleghany Highlands Christmas Mother Program, the Salvation Army sponsored camper program, Stop Hunger Now, Casa de Amistad, Camp Overlook summer camp, and the United Methodist Women’s Legacy Fund.
